Holy Family Academy students Riyan and Baubi are reaping the benefits of the Investing Now program, which is run by The University of Pittsburgh. The program is celebrating its 30th year as a college preparatory program that recognizes and supports high academic performance from secondary students that are historically unrepresented in STEM careers. On Monday February 12th Bishop David Zubick visited Holy Family Academy. The Bishop celebrated mass at the campus chapel with the HFA staff and students. His sermon focused on the importance of maintaining Christian faith and values in the face of public opposition.  After mass, the Bishop toured the school and visited several classrooms. Holy Family Academy students are hard at work developing their artistic side.  Every Friday morning, a group of HFA students get in touch with their artistic talents at Manchester Craftsman's Guild. Mockups is fast-paced, design thinking card game created to help build rapid prototypes and solve even the most difficult challenge. Ms. Jennifer Lanas and her students are playtesting the card game for the College of Education at West Liberty University, a college in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia. For the third year in a row, Holy Family Academy students recently participated in The Hour of Code.  The Hour Of Code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. Giant Eagle, one of the largest retailers in America, is thrilled with Rickayla, their Holy Family Academy intern.  "Rickayla is very intelligent. She is an asset to my department.
