Holy Family Academy teacher Marlee Flaherty recently won a trip to Spain through the Classrooms Without Borders program. According to the Classrooms Without Borders site "CWB is a premier provider of experiential, extended-term professional development for teachers in the metropolitan Pittsburgh region. Offering unique travel experiences enriched with academic literature and direct application to classroom instruction, CWB prides itself on offering comprehensive seminars with a breadth and depth of content not seen anywhere else."
"Classrooms Without Borders is a wonderful organization" said Ms. Flaherty "Their focus on experiential enrichment is superlative. I look forward to bringing my learning back into the classroom."
The purpose of the trip is to study Spain's place as a participant during the Age of Discovery and its role as a nation that is a home for Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Ms. Flaherty leaves for Spain in June.
